Colonial Georgian Home (Colchester, Connecticut)
With extension
Georgian colonial style homes were popular in New England during the 1700's. Spacious and comfortable, the Georgian architecture reflected the rising ambition of a new country. The center chimney colonial was one of the most popular house styles of the 18th century. In the early part of the 19th century, the design changed into a center hallway, with two chimneys on either side.
